Rama raghoba rane

 Rama Raghoba Rane, PVC (26 June 1918 – 11 July 1994) was an officer in the Indian Army. He was the first living recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration.

Born in 1918, Rane served in the British Indian Army during the Second World War. He remained in the military during the post-war period and was commissioned in the Bombay Sappers Regiment of the Indian Army's Corps of Engineers on 15 December 1947. In April 1948, during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947, Rane played a key role in the capture of Rajauri by Indian forces by being instrumental in clearing several roadblocks and minefields. His actions helped clear the way for advancing Indian tanks. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra on 8 April 1948 for his gallantry. He retired as a major from the Indian Army in 1968. During his 28 years' service with the army, he was mentioned in despatches five times. He died in 1994 at the age of 76.

Singh joined the army in 1941, and took part in the Burma Campaign of World War II, receiving the Military Medal for his actions during the Battle of the Admin Box in 1944.

Despite being wounded twice on both the hands, he refused evacuation and continued to hold the first line of trenches. During the fifth wave of attacks, two Pakistani soldiers closed on Singh's position; Singh jumped out of his trench and killed them with his bayonet, greatly demoralizing the Pakistanis.



Albert ekka

 Lance Naik Albert Ekka, PVC was a soldier in the Indian Army. He was martyred in action in the Battle of Gangasagar, during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valour in the face of the enemy.

Greandiar yoginder singh yadav

 Despite being grievously injured, Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav charged towards the second bunker along with seven soldiers. The bunker was captured but only Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav survived with 15 bullet injuries, two hand-grenade wounds and an arm hanging from tendons and skin," it added.

Yogender Singh Yadav was just 16 years and 5 months old when he joined the Army. His father, Karan Singh Yadav was part of the Kumaon regiment and fought the 1965 and 1971 wars. His younger brother, Jitender Yadav is also part of Indian army now. The Param Vir Chakra award was announced for Yogender posthumously.

Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav was martyred in retaliatory firing by the enemy on the evening of July 5th 1999.

Manoj Pandey continued fighting along with his troop, clearing the second and third bunkers, killing two invaders again and it was then that he cleared the fourth bunker with a grenade which gave him a fatal burst and a shot at his forehead by the enemy. He finally collapsed and succumbed to injuries.

Capt Manoj later succumbed to his injuries and was martyred at the age of 24 years. The troops under the command of Capt Manoj gained control over six bunkers and killed eleven enemy soldiers besides getting a good stock of arms and ammunition including an air defense gun.

 Saurabh Kalia was an officer of the Indian Army who was killed during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistan Army.

Arun khetrapal

 Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal PVC born in Pune, Maharashtra, was an officer of the Indian Army and a posthumous recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration for valour in face of the enemy.

Arun was the second one to be killed after he sustained severe injuries when his tank was knocked out and eventually succumbed to his wounds. Both Prayag Singh and Nathu Singh were also badly wounded but survived and were captured by Pakistani troops who seized the Famagusta.

Theogaraj. In the night, the Indian troops flooded the sugar cane field, and the next morning, the Pakistani tanks of the 1st Armoured Division, consisting mainly of M47 and M48 Patton tanks, were lured inside the horse-shoe trap.

Major Shaitan Singh

 Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC (1 December 1924 – 18 November 1962) was an Indian Army officer and recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration. Singh was born in Rajasthan. On completing his graduation, Singh joined the Jodhpur State Forces. He was transferred to the Kumaon Regiment after the princely state of Jodhpur was merged into India. He took part in operations in the Naga Hills and also in the 1961 Indian annexation of Goa.

During the 1962 Sino-Indian War, 13th Battalion of Kumaon Regiment was stationed in the Chushul sector. C Company, under the command of Singh, was holding a position at Rezang La. In the morning hours of 18 November 1962, the Chinese attacked. After several unsuccessful attacks from the front, the Chinese attacked from the rear. The Indians fought until their last rounds, before eventually being overpowered by the Chinese. During the battle, Singh continuously moved from post to post reorganizing the defences and boosting the morale of his men. As he moved between the posts without any cover, he was seriously wounded, and later succumbed to his injuries. For his actions on 18 November 1962, Singh was awarded the Param Vir Chakra.



Early life

Shaitan Singh was born on 1 December 1924 in a Rajput family of Bhati clan in Banasar village, Jodhpur district, Rajasthan.[1] His father was Lieutenant Colonel Hem Singh. Lt. Col. Singh served in France with the Indian Army during World War I, and was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the British government.[3]


Singh studied in the Chopasni Senior Secondary School, Jodhpur up to his matriculation. At school, he was known for his skills as a football player. After completing his schooling in 1943, Singh went to Jaswant College, and completed his graduation in 1947. On 1 August 1949,[3] he joined the Jodhpur State Forces as an officer.[4].

भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव ने 1928 में लाहौर में एक ब्रिटिश जूनियर पुलिस अधिकारी जॉन सॉन्डर्स की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी। इसके बाद सेंट्रल एसेंबली में बम फेंक दिया। बम फेंकने के बाद वे भागे नहीं, जिसके नतीजतन उन्हें फांसी की सजा हुई थी। तीनों को 23 मार्च 1931 को लाहौर सेंट्रल जेल के भीतर ही फांसी दे दी गई थी।

Vikram Batra

Captain Vikram Batra, PVC was an officer of the Indian Army. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest and most prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War, during which he led one of the most difficult mountain warfare operations in Indian military history.

Biography on veer Kunwar singh

 वीर कुंवर सिंह का जन्म 13 नवंबर 1777 को बिहार के भोजपुर जिले के जगदीशपुर गांव में हुआ था। ... उनके माताजी का नाम पंचरत्न कुंवर था. उनके छोटे भाई अमर सिंह, दयालु सिंह और राजपति सिंह एवं इसी खानदान के बाबू उदवंत सिंह, उमराव सिंह तथा गजराज सिंह नामी जागीरदार रहे तथा अपनी आजादी कायम रखने के खातिर सदा लड़ते रहे।

वीर कुंवर सिंह के बचपन के बारे में बहुत अधिक जानकारी नहीं मिलती। कहा जाता है कि कुँवर सिंह का जन्म बिहार में शाहाबाद जिले के जगदीशपुर में सन् 1782 ई. ... कुँवर सिंह के पिता वीर होने के साथ-साथ स्वाभिमानी एवं उदार स्वभाव के व्यक्ति थे। उनके व्यक्तित्व का प्रभाव कुँवर सिंह पर भी पड़ा।

आजादी की जंग में कूदे बाबू कुंवर सिंह ने 27 अप्रैल, 1857 को दानापुर के सिपाहियों, भोजपुरी जवानों और अन्य साथियों के साथ मिलकर आरा नगर पर कब्जा कर लिया. इस विजय को आरा विजय के नाम से जाना जाता है. यहां बाबू कुंवर सिंह ने जेल तोड़कर कैदियों को तो मुक्त कराया ही, साथ ही यहां के खजाने पर भी कब्जा कर लिया.

ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के भाड़े के सैनिकों को इन्होंने पूरी तरह खदेड़ दिया। उस दिन बुरी तरह घायल होने पर भी इस बहादुर ने जगदीशपुर किले से गोरे पिस्सुओं का "यूनियन जैक" नाम का झंडा उतार कर ही दम लिया। वहाँ से अपने किले में लौटने के बाद 26 अप्रैल 1858 को इन्होंने वीरगति पाई।
